We’re Hiring

Aasen Homes builds thoughtful remodels, custom homes, and saunas across the Twin Cities. We're small on purpose, and we're growing. This is our first hire, which means the person who takes this role helps shape how the company runs. If you like being out in the world instead of behind a desk, if you're the kind of person who notices the missing certificate of insurance before anyone asks, and if you take some pride in a job site that looks like someone cares, we'd like to meet you.

Field Coordinator (Part-Time)

Aasen Homes | Chanhassen, MN
Job sites across the Twin Cities and western suburbs, with flexible remote time

The Role

Aasen Homes is a design-forward residential builder founded by Peter Tollefson after 13 years leading experience design at Target. We run projects the way great products get built: clear sequencing, real collaboration, and no detail left to chance.

This role exists because good work stalls on small things. A sample that never got dropped off. A sub who showed up without a signed PO. A room that wasn't ready when the flooring crew arrived. Your job is to close those loops before they become delays. You'll work directly with Peter across several active projects, and most of your time will be in the field.

  • Field runs: material pickups and deliveries, vendor returns, dropping samples with clients, getting a check to the sub who still works on paper. A lot of small things that only get done if someone owns them

  • Site presence: check in on active job sites, confirm trades have what they need, and make sure a space is ready for the next crew before they show up Monday morning. Light hands-on work is part of it (site protection, tidying, moving material)

  • Sub readiness: before a trade starts, make sure we have their W-9, current certificate of insurance, and a signed purchase order in hand. You are the one who follows up until it's done, so nobody shows up on site without paperwork behind them

  • Field measuring: take measurements for trim, flooring, and finishes, and schedule vendor measures so ordering never waits on a calendar

  • Orders and selections: place and track material orders, confirm lead times against the schedule, and chase clients and designers for final decisions until they're made and documented

  • Punch list and warranty: track open items through to completion, and manage warranty callbacks so nothing lingers after a project wraps

  • Schedule support: keep the project schedule current in our project management platform, confirm trades for upcoming work, and flag conflicts early

Who You Are

  • Resourceful and reliable. You figure things out, and when you say you'll handle something, it's handled

  • Comfortable being hands-on. Hauling material, rolling out site protection, tidying up a space. Light physical work is a real part of this job

  • Good with people in the field. You'll talk with subs, vendors, building managers, and occasionally clients, and you represent the brand every time. Persistent without being a pain

  • Self-directed. This role exists so the founder is never the bottleneck, which means you see around corners without being asked

  • Comfortable with modern software. We run on Ressio plus current tools including AI assistants. Experience with Ressio is not required; we'll train the right person

  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle you're comfortable hauling material in. Mileage is reimbursed

  • Residential construction experience is a real plus, but the right operating instincts matter more than industry history

Logistics

  • Part-time, approximately 15 to 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling

  • Expect 2 to 4 days per week in the field during active project phases

  • $30 to $45 per hour depending on experience, plus mileage reimbursement

  • Room to grow as the company does

Benefits

  • SIMPLE IRA with a 3% company match

  • $500 annual professional development allowance for training, certifications, or industry membership, your pick

  • $500 annual gear allowance for boots, outerwear, and tools

  • Mileage reimbursed at the full IRS standard rate, paid monthly

  • $50 monthly phone stipend

  • Paid sick and safe time

  • Flexible scheduling around your life
